Day School
The Science of Learning, The Art of Independence
Sri Lanka’s only international school exclusively dedicated to students with additional learning needs.
At The Tree House International, education combines science and compassion. Students receive five hours of holistic education each day, integrating academics, therapy, and life skills within a calm and structured environment. The goal is to build confidence, capability, and emotional wellbeing.
Each student follows an individualised programme designed around their unique strengths and needs. Learning takes place through one-to-one sessions and small group activities that foster independence, engagement, and social connection.
Physical activity, including swimming, movement based learning, bicycle riding, and badminton, forms a vital part of our curriculum. These experiences strengthen coordination, self regulation, and concentration while supporting physical and sensory development.
All sessions are led by internationally qualified therapists and educators and are continuously supervised by Sri Lanka’s only certified Board Certified Behaviour Analysts, Chartered Behavioural Psychologist, and Chartered Scientist. This ensures that every programme is purposeful, ethical, and directed towards measurable progress and lifelong independence.
Evidence Based Education
Our curriculum integrates Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), sensory integration, and other scientifically validated approaches. Each lesson and activity develops communication, problem solving, and daily living skills that extend beyond the classroom.
For academics, we follow the UK approved Functional Skills qualification, equivalent to the GCSE. This ensures that learning is practical, measurable, and directly prepares students for independence in real world settings.

Individualised Approach
Before enrolment, each student undergoes a comprehensive assessment conducted by a Chartered Educational Assessor, BCBA, Chartered Scientist, Chartered Psychologist, Speech Therapist, and Special Needs Educator.
Findings from this process form the foundation of an Individualised Education Plan (IEP) created by an Educational Scientist who is also Sri Lanka’s only Chartered Scientist, BCBA, and Chartered Psychologist. Each plan includes clear, measurable goals that reflect family aspirations and the student’s individual potential.
