International Behaviour Therapist® (IBT) Training

The Tree House International is the only Approved  Provider for IBT in Sri Lanka 

WHAT IS AN IBT

Around the world, IBTs provide behavioural services to a variety of clients in a variety of settings. Most IBTs work with individuals on the Autism Spectrum or with those who have developmental delays and require additional support with language development, challenging behaviour, activities of daily living, social skills, and learning. IBTs are typically hands-on, “front-line” therapists who deliver behavioural services directly to clients.

IBTs work under the supervision of a Behavior Analyst (BCBA / IBA). The IBT®️ provides direct implementation of the behavioural interventions designed by the IBA or BCBA.

IBAO®️ BOARD APPROVED COURSEWORK

The IBT®️ is an accomplishment that shows the world that the individual is a competent behavioural therapist and ready to provide effective and ethical treatment in homes, schools, and community settings.

The International Behaviour Therapist (IBT®️) certification is obtained after a candidate demonstrates that they have completed a minimum of 40 hours of training, 300 hours of supervised practice, and supervision-related tasks and activities.

IBT REQUIREMENTS

The IBT requirements fall into five broad categories. These are registration, completion of education requirements, supervised practice, Candidate Skills Testing, and passing the IBT online exam.

  • Complete Required 40 Hours of Approved Training Content

  • Choose Supervisor and Sign Supervisor Agreement

  • Complete Candidate Skills Testing

  • Complete 4 Hours of Continuing Education

  • Complete 300 Hours of Supervised Practice

  • Receive 10 Hours of Supervision

COURSE DETAILS

  • Delivery Mode: The IBT training is delivered online. Supervision is onsite at The Tree House International School

  • Start Date:  7 October 2023

  • Duration:  The online training will cover a total of 40 hours divided over 4 weeks. The supervision will be onsite for 3 months, 300 hours.
