Ms. Bloemhard was among the first in Sri Lanka to begin autism awareness in 2008. She has been supporting parents with children on the spectrum, and building awareness and acceptance through the years, while also supporting her son. Through numerous hours of self-study and workshops, she has learned about different therapies both educational and biomedical and is well versed on many interventions that are available. She completed her course in behavior therapy through Dr Anton James and became a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and she is a registered International Behavior Therapist (IBT). She is currently working on her mission, which is a supported living project with a vision to create an opportunity for young adults with autism to reach their full potential and lead successful lives.
